Meet Our Maxtrax Mates: Escape The Daily

October 19, 2026 2 min read

Behind Escape The Daily is Jessie, Lachlan and their three daughters, a family who have always had a knack for taking the road less travelled. Long before owning a 4WD, they were pushing the family car further than it probably should have gone. These days, they’re exploring Australia in their Prado with Maxtrax along for the ride.

How It All Started

When they bought the Prado, Escape The Daily really started to take shape. Jessie and Lachlan began sharing their build and adventures online to show that you don’t need to spend a fortune to build a capable 4WD and get out exploring. For them, it has always been about making the most of what you have, learning as you go and getting out there with the family.

A Recovery They Won’t Forget

One trip through the Victorian High Country quickly became one of their most memorable.

A quick toilet stop for one of the kids ended with the Prado bogged to the chassis in deep snow. After hours of digging and trying to get moving again, their Turquoise Maxtrax MKIIs helped get them out and back on track. It was a pretty solid reminder of why recovery gear is always worth having close by. That experience also shaped one of their biggest recovery tips: dig first. Clearing around the tyres before laying down your boards can reduce resistance and make the whole recovery a lot easier.

The Gear That Always Makes the Trip

When it comes to their favourite Maxtrax gear, there’s no hesitation. The Maxtrax XTREME recovery boards are one piece of kit that always makes the packing list. After a few memorable recoveries over the years, they’ve become part of the setup rather than something that gets thought about at the last minute.

These days, Escape The Daily is all about family trips, 4WDing and making the most of the incredible places Australia has to offer.
