Before the boards. Before the winch. When you're stuck, traction boards alone won’t save you. You need to dig.
Dig tight around wheels, then extend to reach under the chassis. We've designed our shovel to be the most capable shovel, adaptable for all terrains and all types of recovery.
Built for off-roading and emergency recoveries, the MAXTRAX All-Terrain Recovery Shovel is designed to work as part of your recovery system, not just sit loose in the back of the vehicle. It mounts directly with MKII and XTREME boards, keeping your essential recovery gear stored together and ready when the terrain pushes back.
At MAXTRAX we know recovery like nobody else. And if you’ve spent any time off-road, you know the truth — when a vehicle gets stuck, the first thing you reach for is a shovel.
Before traction boards. Before winches. Before straps. You dig.
So we set out to build a shovel specifically for the realities of vehicle recovery. Not a camping shovel. Not something rattling around in the back of the vehicle. A purpose-built recovery tool designed to work as part of the MAXTRAX ecosystem.
The MAXTRAX All-Terrain Recovery Shovel integrates directly with MKII and XTREME boards, allowing your recovery gear to mount together securely for transport. No loose tools. No wasted space. Just a complete recovery setup ready to go when the track turns against you.
We designed and engineered the shovel to adapt to how recoveries actually happen in the field. Around tyres and wheel ruts you need control, which is why the shovel features a compact short-handle configuration that gives you the leverage and precision needed to dig quickly around your vehicle.
But sometimes the digging needs to happen further under the chassis — clearing sand from diffs, axles or belly pans where your arms simply won’t reach. That’s where the extension pole comes in. Attach it and the shovel instantly converts into a long-reach tool, letting you dig safely under the vehicle without crawling into the mess.
Like everything MAXTRAX builds, the design is simple, strong and practical. The shovel is built to handle the realities of off-road recoveries while remaining easy to store and transport. Included mounting brackets, straps and a cable lock allow it to secure directly with your MAXTRAX boards, keeping your entire recovery system together and ready for action.
